Hitech News – Christmas & Holiday Period Edition

After having a very hectic year it is good to see that Christmas is around the corner and we will all get a chance to have a bit of a break and recharge the batteries.

I would like to personally thank all of our clients for their support and good will this year and in the previous years and hope that everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas.

I would also like to wish everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Holiday Trading Hours

We will be closed on Friday 22nd December 2006 and will open for normal trading on Monday 8th December 2006. During the closed period we will be available for Emergency support only.  Our office phones will be diverted to a mobile, when reporting your problem you need to include your name, company name and a contact phone number with a brief description of the problem.  An engineer will then phone you back to assist with the problem.

Here is a sneak preview of what is happening with Hitech in the new year…

Launch of our NEW “Products and Licensing Division”

Hitech Support is launching a new internal division that will focus on selling products and licensing for various vendors. A dedicated team will work independently from the services and support team to provide fast and price-competitive quotes.

The creation of this new division is a direct result of the feedback we have received from our customers over the year who do not realise that we are partners with most of the leading vendors. We can be quite competitive to not only provide the necessary specialised services but also the products and licenses to meet your requirements.

Our product portfolio includes Cisco, Microsoft, HP, IBM, Sophos, Sonicwall, and many of the other leading vendors.

The division will be headed by John Wendell, who will be in contact with you in the new year to discuss if there are any opportunities on the horizon where we can provide assistance. Ask us for more details.

Things to watch out for in 2007

We are working towards extending our standard services offerings to include our recently released “Real-Time Monitoring” and “Onsite Management Server” services to all clients.  We are moving towards a more pro-active range of services to complement the existing Monthly Maintenance and routine services we are currently providing.  We have seen an increase I the amount of remote support that we have provided over the year and expect that this workload will increase in the new year.

We are also predicting very interesting times in the Server Virtualisation, VoIP, Wireless and Remote Access areas in 2007...  Ask us for more details.

New Products Solutions and Technologies

Vmware - Virtualisation

Server Virtualisation is in the minds of most medium to large companies today. Not only for the cost-savings preposition it represents, but also because of improved management, flexibility and visibility that it brings with its implementation. Server consolidation is still the conversation starter, but other considerations such as business continuity, better use of existing resources and scalability is also among the key value added benefits. Hitech Support has been deploying a few pilot trials and we are currently converting our own systems to a virtual server environment.  We have come across some very interesting problems and issues and we are rapidly building upon our experience and knowledge in this technology. Ask us for more details

New Announcements

John Wendell / Hitech Support on the news (again)

John Wendell, our sales manager has earned another 5 minutes of fame. This time John was interviewed in “The Australian” along with his photo, in an article about how online training suits busy-workers life. In the article John points out: "Hitech does a lot of work with local councils and I've just done a module on IT governance. That's something our customers really want to talk about”. The article also mentions details about the CCP Course (Certified Computer Professional) that John is undertaking at the Australian Computer Society. See the full article here.
