New Products Solutions and Technologies

Patch Management Solution

With network vulnerabilities increasing, system administrators must provide security throughout the enterprise by implementing network security software solutions. Hackers often break into a network or workstation through Spyware, which is accessible when administrators don't implement patch management tools for computer and network security. Shavlik, our recommended product allows you to: precicisely manage Spyware activity and patching on a large network from one easy-to-use intuitive console; Scan the network for Spyware and missing patches without requiring agents on each system; Provide rich-targeting and system grouping by Active Directory organizational unit, domain name, IP addresses, IP ranges, and hostnames… Ask us for more details

Our “forward-thinking” sales manager goes back to school

John Wendell, our sales manager has earned his 5 minutes of fame late last month. John was mentioned in the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age along with his photo (signed copies can be made available upon request!), in an article promoting life-long education. John is spending around 10 hours a week on an online postgraduate program that will see him one day add the initials CCP (certified computer professional) to the end of his name, thanks to a continued push by the Australian Computer Society to have its members embrace life-long learning and lift professionalism in information technology. The course focus is on IT Management and John is particularly impressed with the quality of the program. The first module covers business, legal and ethical issues, including IT Governance. This is an area in which Hitech Support has been doing some work in and we see the need to help our clients comply with the relevant industry standards and hence take a more structured approach to managing their networks. See John at a full article reprint here.

Cost effective VoIP technologies to reduce telephony costs

Voice Over IP “VoIP” no longer needs to be a feared technology.  There has been a lot of bad press over the last few years that VoIP has not delivered on its promises.  There have been a number of companies out there that have not taken the time to prepare and plan for the implementations which has lead to some disasters.  The quality of network infrastructure including WAN and VPN links need to be taken into close consideration and are often the cause of most of the problems found.

Hitech has been involved with the implementation, troubleshooting and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of VoIP systems and we have gained a lot of experience in this area over the last few years.

VoIP offers significant cost advantages and productivity enhancements. It can reduce telephone costs by digitizing voice (and in some cases video) calls and routing them the same way email travels over the Internet using your existing broadband connection. Because you pay for and maintain a single IP network, your communication costs are reduced, as is the cost of managing and supporting your communications networks. Productivity is also enhanced through numerous additional features that streamline how we work and make it easier than ever to collaborate with co-workers at other locations.   Ask us for more details
